Welcome to Mostly Quilts

A chinese lion statue

Stroll through Barbara Booth's studio of quilting delights. Whether you simply draw inspiration from her gallery of art and watercolor quilts, purchase a finished quilt or accessory, or stitch your own art quilt using Barbara's patterns, you'll share in the appreciation of a traditional art form adapted to contemporary tastes and uses.

"Creating a quilt is like painting with fabric. My watercolor patterns are designed to give even novice quilters an opportunity to create a piece of artwork that appeals to the sense of touch as well as sight," Barbara says.

"It is my hope that my art quilts will evoke emotion in the viewer. Many people say they find it calming to sit and look at my wall art quilts. So, look around and enjoy!"

Houston Quilt Show

admin December 7th, 2011

Last month I had the chance to help my friend Karen work her booth (Home a la Mode) at the Houston Quilt Show.  It was a great experience to see the vendor side of the show.  I have a new appreciation for how hard the vendors work!  It was great to see some of the show and do a little shopping as time allowed.  If you were there, I’m sure it was awesome as always!

Quilt Show

admin October 15th, 2011

Next week, October 21-23, I will be at the

Oklahoma City quilt show helping a friend in her

booth, Home ala Mode.  I am excited about the

opportunity to market my patterns and kits.

Hope to see some of you there!

Shipping costs

admin April 26th, 2011

Today I mailed a quilt and was shocked at how much postage has gone up!  Yes, those higher gasoline prices affect delivery trucks too; I just didn’t give it much thought.  So my shipping charges have gone up on quilts, but patterns are still mailed FREE!

Hope you are finding some time to create.  That is always the struggle since life in general tries to claim every minute of our day!

Thanks so much for teaching me the technique of making watercolor quilts. It was so much fun to learn something new, fun and exciting. Your expertise is awesome, along with your patience. Thanks again for sharing your time in Kaufman today.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

admin November 12th, 2010

It is my hope that you all have much to be thankful for, such as good health, close family and cherished friends.  In addition to family and holiday preparations, I always look for extra time to spend in my studio to feed that creative urge.  So enjoy next week in whatever way makes you happy!

admin April 15th, 2010

Big Pattern Sale!!!

admin February 8th, 2010

All patterns are now 50% off and include free shipping in the USA!  A great time to stock up for yourself or a gift for a quilting friend.  Think Secret Pal or planning ahead for next Christmas gift exchanges.

I am in a spring cleaning mood, though it is still cold even in Texas.  It is fun to spruce up my studio and get things organized and easily accessible.  I like looking for containers that will best hold buttons, beads and other embellishments.  Let me know if you have a favorite method for organizing small stuff!

Fabulous workshop

admin September 21st, 2009

Last week I had the pleasure of attending a workshop in Marble Falls, TX taught by Katie Pasquini Masopust!  I learned so much about her techniques in creating landscapes with ghost images and different colors.  She was a very good teacher and made the class a lot of fun.  I can’t wait to try out a new project!

Fabric Kits

admin July 17th, 2009

If choosing fabrics for a project is not your thing, then check out a couple of fabric Kits I have added.  Holiday Tree kit has everything you need for the top, including the border and binding.  Jungle Babies has the fabric already cut for the top, but without borders.  I plan to add more kits soon.  The kits really make your project easier and faster!

Gallery News

admin March 30th, 2009

Since my last post, I have had 7 art quilts accepted at The Copper Shade Tree Gallery in Round Top, Texas.  Currently the Marburger Antique Show is in town, so there is lots to see.  This is a great time in Texas to enjoy a drive in the country and some shopping in a fun, quaint setting.
